Kit Kelen #24 - the clouds of Toby Fitch

24

the clouds of Toby Fitch

responding to The Bloomin Notions of Other and Beau
(and you oughta read em too)

1
rose fingered first
thing tells itself

you're the one goes away
and after

all animal sad
so many
merely begun
made off

think sticks
like a dog in rollover

hair on end

we're the attending sentience
word for a thing

skins of it excite me

2
life in the cloud
where all is kept
as if to aery thinness beat
is it? or wrung?

a cloud is out

a sky ago
the moment lost
our now

3
trouser cloud flaccid
for having so wished

wink but a little
sly
precipitate
moisten a region down there

4
a rudeness
from which all
wink wet
and stroked up tight
mere brush by might begin it

and certain, in a smile
this can be, all considered, kind

never was done politely

unless Victorian contraption

imagine you're a horse, a cow

5
spring and beast
solicitous
becalmed
in their own strangle

procreation's heavy duty

how can the body be meant for this?
every child must ask

6
a thing such as goes gravewards
the cruel truth that is

as if two ant colonies fought
neither sees but knows to war

there is an after all of this
when what they died for stinks

7
marooned on a level playing field

where I am here with you for the page

too fast

stumps slipped
they call it
for light
for nothing the right colour
like spider precious to the web

every old sine qua non

8
cloudy people too
for whom
the wind does an impression of rain

thought bubbles up
in fact

still here to tell
falls with some force

got be algorithm for this

9

behold!
we insectivorous star

in one postcode
love astral zaps the dreaming
all Jesusy aglow

the flowers of Antarctica

10
nations away with the sea
it's every makes me new

bottom of day milady
bow
tug forelock

here's poem on the horizontal

and poem with a little fall
the uphill versus

rollercoaster model
poem dripping with it

turnaround poem
shrink into
never get to the bottom of

snail it shell
roll off
roll on

go slippery silver in the rain

fix it with this spray

11
pedestrianized

turf!
in skyfalls of a calculus
the corpse orations yet

dream in which I'm still here calling
no son of god does this

conversion of payroll into libation
double or nothing
you're on!

12
of the unknowing
yawn forth
traffic and accident

zombie come back

straighten up
swipe right

maze numb
to a stinkhole of promises

we run the thing
headlong for life

we follow a hearse of air

13
in a field of type
nothing upended
for the view

everything appended
in hope loops
as we pray

carbon for credit
like keeping your own dinosaur

lick this
(here's luck)

14
certain words stand out
as if to rule the screen

tanker clouds queue the horizon
we had the honey hive

inoculate with hang 'em dry
dark souls who wanted in

15
scribbled and floozed
(a firm of solicitors)

stand up to dinner
and win

obliviate the nous of tout
be blistered having come

twist figure
and pervert the curse
so that some good will be

16
bugger the fact
we've buggered the weather

my country's cut and come again
once in a blue let be

17
a window laughed to see such fun
and sometimes make a mirror

you light up like a firefly

the spider army
is full of despatch
I send them off by shoe

18
then a routine remembers me
so we can be old friends

sunk tanka
of the era since
when we ghazal about
desult

car nation
in full flower

19
call that profession?

bothering to read the dark
of here we always are

let's see how it is clouds are here

(in summer's rut our reputation)

moment
how I make you mine

and yawny after all

20
city shines where it smokes
where we drill down to

one wells
time reels

bloodlight has seen to

we get away from

as if forever
bright me

stand as edifice
read right through the leaf

21
forget about intention

we're just the leavings of the lost
has to have been happened then

go to gutter get over
and turn

knock at the mountain
you can still get in

22
death to the muzak
whole pages blue
vexed with text

even the slaves whipped up to a friend see
selves sold to starvation

had to time
to scan the heavens

could mean the odd wry smile

23
myself I'll take cherubic

and always be remembered
our cenotaph
our sky

here where the rule was broken
a squint to see
what it
is
was
why

heave away you ruler king
and stoush some flamin' cop

there's no deposit no return
this isn't South Australia

24
clouds blink
and then you're gone
