Béatrice Machet # 5

“I am really denying the value of wisdom as a life force. Wisdom is to be used only to conquer death, destruction, or tragedy, but not as a substitute for life.” Anaïs Nin  in Fire, from A JOURNAL OF LOVE, the unexpurgated diary 1934-1937(Harcourt Brace & Company)

[i]

There  (is)  nothing to hold it.
This dense
messy fog: ) Feelings ( :  water suspended in air to thrive on—and I’ll clear
my way through (all)
these moods that can erupt
at any moment…                 [solar]explosion is my style.
You expected a quiet lake   (by you)
you end up with
a volcano    ) and (           a water fall
as (life) companions        as brackets to embrace an overflowing whole…
brimming              bursting                always past and beyond…
no number    no letter      no (magic) formula    to tame or control this
spring: ) of life (

(thus) entropy is the law
till randomness and disorder lead
to uniformity
which means (my) death
an ) old (  )original( [home]land I belong to

[ii]
the bite of the needle
stitch after stitch but no thread
carving a period which is also a dot
a little hole in the tissue of this haunting dream
suspension dots are my landmarks sewing and weaving
abstractions with the flesh embroideries of nothingness as envelope
for a body of
unimportance
and yet
this light
